Munisa Abdurakhimova

Munisa Abdurakhimova is pursuing a Master of Science in Computer Science at Louisiana Tech University. Born and raised in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, she moved to the United States at 17 to continue her education. Munisa earned her bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology and later worked as a Medical Technologist at Quest Diagnostics, where she gained hands-on experience in clinical testing, laboratory operations, and patient-focused healthcare. That role not only strengthened her technical skills but also deepened her interest in the intersection of healthcare and technology.

During her graduate studies, she has developed expertise in computer architecture, project management, and information theory. A key project she worked on involved wearable health monitors, which further confirmed her passion for advancing healthcare through technology. Her long-term goal is to contribute to the tech industry by developing innovative healthcare solutions that improve both efficiency and patient outcomes.

Munisa is proud of her journey as an international student and the growth it has brought to both her academic and personal life. Outside of academics, she enjoys weightlifting, tennis, traveling, listening to classical music, and volunteering. These interests keep her grounded while inspiring her to keep learning and striving for impact.
