Event Description: Louisiana Tech University’s Graduate Student Council (COES GSC) invites you to attend From Idea to Publication, an interactive workshop designed to introduce students to the fundamentals of academic research and publishing. This session will guide participants through the early stages of research, from identifying appropriate research topics to understanding how and where to publish scholarly work.

This workshop is an excellent opportunity for students who are new to research or looking to strengthen their understanding of the research paper process, academic writing, and publication pathways.

Audience Participation: Open to all graduate students, especially incoming and early-stage Master’s and Ph.D. students. Attendees are encouraged to participate, ask questions, and engage in discussion throughout the workshop.

About the Workshop: From Idea to Publication covers key topics including different types of research papers, how to select a research topic, strategies for writing and publishing, and effective use of Louisiana Tech library resources. The workshop will be led by Lindsay Zack, Engineering and Science Librarian at Prescott Memorial Library, who brings expertise in research support and academic resources.
