Event Spotlight: COES GSC Presents “Industrial AI for Manufacturing, Agriculture, and Healthcare
The COES Graduate Student Council is thrilled to host an exciting and insightful seminar on one of technology’s most dynamic frontiers! Join us for “Industrial AI for Manufacturing, Agriculture, and Healthcare,” featuring Louisiana Tech’s own Dr. Abdur Rahman.
This is a fantastic opportunity for graduate students to explore how robust, explainable, and adaptive AI solutions are actively reshaping key industries and to connect with a leading expert in the field.
Meet the Speaker
We are honored to feature Dr. Abdur Rahman, Ph.D., an Assistant Professor of Industrial Engineering at Louisiana Tech University. Dr. Rahman also serves as the Director of the Intelligent Systems and Optimization (ISO) Lab.
His research focuses on a critical need: creating AI solutions for industrial applications that are not only powerful but also robust, explainable, and adaptive. He has led impactful projects funded by major organizations, including the USDA, DHS, NIH, and Cotton Incorporated, and his work has been published in top journals such as Expert Systems With Applications and Computers in Biology and Medicine.
About the Seminar
Dr. Rahman will discuss the cutting-edge applications of industrial AI across three vital sectors: manufacturing, agriculture, and healthcare.
The seminar will conclude with a forward-looking discussion on the future directions for:
- Human-AI collaborative systems
- Resilient and explainable industrial intelligence
- Unified learning approaches across these diverse environments
Refreshments will be served!
We look forward to seeing you there for an afternoon of learning and discovery.
